Lothian 4×4 Response are a group of like minded 4×4 vehicle enthusiasts that have recently come together with a common interest. That is, that we have all identified the need for providing transport and logistical support during times of need to Category 1/ Category 2 responders and the voluntary services.

Lothian 4×4 Response is a registered charity in Scotland and is a registered member of the National 4×4 Response Charity. There are currently 30 member groups around the UK. We are all volunteer groups that are involved in helping the country’s emergency services and local community. Our members all act voluntarily and do not receive payment for providing this service.

What we do –

Lothian 4×4 Response specialises in logistics in extreme conditions and aims to provide a reliable, 24-hr/365-day transport service when other arrangements are at full stretch.

We are not an emergency service or rescue team!

about usWe will not be expected to deliver an instantaneous response nor any group member travel at high speeds to the scene of an incident.

What Lothian 4×4 Response can and should do is provide reliable, discrete and effective logistics support to the emergency services, the local authority and other voluntary groups who attend civil incidents in our area of coverage. The Response Group voluntarily provides support in all weather conditions, 24 hours a day, and 365 days a year.

Area of Coverage –

Lothian 4×4 Response primarily covers the following council areas: West Lothian, Midlothian, East Lothian, Edinburgh City, Falkirk, Stirling and Clackmannanshire.

We can if required and resources allow, help out in other council or 4×4 response group areas. We have regular monthly team meetings to discuss and further the aims of the team.
